Ferret Information
THE WESSEX FERRET CLUB WAS FORMED IN MAY 1983 AND NOW HAS AROUND 260 MEMBERS SPREAD ACROSS SOUTHERN ENGLAND. ORIGINALLY THE CLUB MEMBERS WERE MAINLY PEOPLE WHO USED THEIR FERRETS FOR RABBIT CONTROL BUT NOW THE PET AND HOUSE KEPT FERRET HOLDS SWAY.

The objects of the "Wessex Ferret Club" are:
To promote the general welfare of the ferret, and to offer advice on housing, feeding, ailments and general husbandry.
To promote a better image of the ferret and ferreter, by attending country shows, fairs and fetes, and by encouraging favourable media coverage.
To provide a club news letter ( to paid up members) for the interchange of news, views and information.
To encourage knowledge of, and research into, ferret aliments, both through local veterinary surgeons and national organizations.
To promote the effective control of breeding in the light of current knowledge.
To engage in any other activity for the benefit of ferrets or ferreters.
The club is a non- profit making organization wholly devoted to the securing of its objects. any funds acquired by any means shall be used only in the furtherance of those objects.
