Racing at the New Forest Show 2019!

Once again, we attended the New Forest Show. Our busiest, longest and most hectic show of the year. We had lots of fun meeting you all and also had fun ferret racing. We had huge crowds with lots of people betting and having fun. The show was quick as always, and we can’t wait till next year!

As many may know, we had a rough start to the show with a very rainy day with storms throughout, but as the show went on it started to get hotter. So by Day 3, we were wishing for it to be cool again! But throughout it all, we continued ferret racing with our excited friends to entertain everyone.

This year we were able to have a little makeover. We had lovely new banners and signs from our new sponsor ESET, including our newest logo! We were able to show the snazzy banners off at the show and are very grateful to ESET sponsoring us. To see what they do, click here. We also had an amazing stand showing our new show cages, made by our secretary Pete and some other club members, and all of our lovely stock, including some new additions; pin badges and car air fresheners.

Our crowd was very excited to watch our races as always! Everyone was betting and cheering on at every race. We had races at 10 am, 1 pm and 4 pm with the stand constantly busy full with people learning about ferrets and asking all kinds of questions!!

Wessex Ferret Club

Broadlands Show 2019

So the Wessex Ferret Club started the new show year off with a bang at the fantastic Broadlands Country Fair!

In the heat of the sunny May bank holiday, we met lots of new friends, including the wonderful Rabbit Fever guys and  the fruity Gwatkin Cider boys!

Despite the heat, we managed some racing, and were kept busy by a great crowd interested in ferrets both as pets and workers.

It was a fantastic weekend, and we look forward to appearing again next year!

Racing On With 2019

So as we race on through 2019, the ferrets come out of hiding to visit the fairs and fetes of the south coast!

Once again the furry gladiators will be taking to the ring to claim the prize of fastest ferret, having spent many a dark winter’s night in training with their coaches and oh so tiny jockeys …

Why not have a great day out and join in with the ferrets at one of the many shows we will be at this year.

For a full list, visit our Show Calendar!
